About us

New Jersey Sikh Gurdwara Council (NJSGC) is a representative body inclusive of the management committees of Sikh Gurdwaras in the state of New Jersey. NJSGC primary objective is to support and coordinate various activities of all member Gurdwaras that may impact the Sikh community as a whole in New Jersey. The coordination of such activities may be ones of mutual interest to member Gurdwaras and / or to the Sikh community broadly in New Jersey. NJSGC activities entail partnering with member Gurdwaras on religious, social welfare and other faith-based initiatives on behalf of the Sikh community of New Jersey. NJSGC’s activities may include partnering on religious, community and social affairs impacting the Sikh community. Such activities may also include providing guidance and support in resolving internal and external matters with a focus on building consensus and mutual understanding. The eventual goal is to lead the Sikh community to establishing strong institutions and governing principles. NJSGC also engages in prominent activities to lead and support interfaith engagement and collaboration as a key objective to foster and strengthen better understanding between the Sikh community and the broader American community.
